Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
Businesses are no longer dependent on costly hardware that becomes outdated every few years. Virtual Desktop infrastructure combines the benefits of cloud and personal computing
Today’s workforce is capable of working from anywhere, without the need to be physically present in the office. With this ability, businesses are presented with a unique opportunity to hire talent irrespective of geography or physical availability.
Virtual Desktop infrastructure combines the benefits of cloud and personal computing, thereby creating an efficient work environment that compliments exponential business growth.
In a VDI environment, the Operating system and application software is executed on top of a Hypervisor utility that maintains the simulations of virtual machines in the cloud. Users can use almost any device like a computer, phone, tab to access the virtual machine on the other end. All the hard work is done by the VDI provider while the user can simply use it with a thin client. To put in simple terms, with VDI businesses are no longer dependent on costly hardware that becomes outdated every few years.
How does VDI work?
- Your VM Machines remain in a centralized server. They are typically run using Windows-OS, however we can also configure Linux machines. Multiple instances can be maintained in the same server.
- When a user requires access, the servers allocate a resource from the source pool and render it for use as per the endpoint device.
- Because all applications are hosted on the same servers, deployment of these resources happens at the click of a few buttons.
Why would you opt for VDI?
A VDI solution has a lot of advantages for the deploying entity. The main plus point of VDI is that all the organizational data is converged at a single location, which makes its management and security a much manageable affair.
All virtual desktops can be updated, configured and secured at a single location, eliminating the hassle of repeating the same process for each end point device. Data that is scattered across many individual PCs also poses security risks, in terms of identity theft and fraud.
Gain better control by consolidation
Get more out of your data by centralizing all your data onto a datacenter under your control.
Enable your employees to do more
Virtualization allows your employees to work securely from anywhere, anytime, without restrictions.
Save money and the environment
Efficient computing through a centralised datacenter saves both for your business and the planet.
